GENTIANA

GENTIANA ACAULIS ACAULIS
I don’t know why but we struggle with growing gentians and we keep being asked for them…so we have persevered. They seem fine once planted out. I think perhaps they do not really like our peat-free compost. This one we can grow with its green glossy leaves forming a slow spreading mat. Large blue trumpet flowers, somewhat spasmodically in spring. Happy in alkaline soils. 8 cm
