NARCISSUS

Some of you sometimes ask us why we grow daffodils in pots when they can be bought cheaper as dry bulbs in the autumn. We only grow the less common varieties and going by their popularity some customers obviously find it very helpful to buy them when they are about to flower, or are in bloom, to dot in amongst other plants. They also make lovely gifts to bring a bit of cheer and last longer than a bunch of cut flowers! The bulbs are poisonous.

NERINE

The Mead Nursery - Nerine Bowdenii BOWDENII
We have decided that this bulb needs very little water, so put it right against the wall of the house on the sunniest side, and try to neglect it! If happy, it will become dormant in summer, then send up shell-pink flowers on sturdy stems, in September and October.
